Smoke on the Wind

Super Saison 7.2%
Bottle conditioned, in 375 ml champagne bottles, corked and caged.
Release date: October 2013.

This was another exploration of the saison style. This time stronger and more spiced - a super saison. Extra pale Maris Otter and Munich malts, a few oats, Hersbrucker Hallertau, Cascade and Summit hops, coriander and frozen elderflowers, Saison yeast (WLP565). One kilderkin was dry hopped with smoked Wakatu but by the time it was bottled it had faded. None of the other three kils had smoke. I gave it the name Smoke on the Wind, nonetheless.

Tasting notes

Perfumed and (some bottles) slightly smoky; dry, bitter saison. Planning to release this beer in early October.
