This eastern margin of th e channel has been migrating westwards 1980 - 2019 due to erosion of the cliff and the oblique direction of the palaeo-channel with respect to the cliff line. Perhaps this bed corresponds to stratigraphy mapped by West at around 345 m (or more) east of datum. Here bed i, a gravel of the Beestonian pre-WRFB succession, is the most likely candidate. However, it is quite likely that this tooth came from a deposit that was not noted by R.G.
